At Miranda You Have the Right to Eat Sexy
When being taken into the custody of a rumored-to-be romantic restaurant, you have the right to be skeptical. Is the mood lighting hiding a sub-par meal? Will an overattentive waiter interrupt your sweet nothings, whispered across the bread basket? We’ve vetted Williamsburg mainstay, Miranda and advise you to high-tail it over there with your honey- tonight.
A grilled octopus salad atop a lofty bed of wild arugula, avocado, cucumber, pickled shallots and jalapeños, was a heavenly surprise on the buds ($12). Follow it up with their perfectly al dente, house-made Farfalle with shrimp, PEI mussels, and calamari in a tomato-basil sauce ($24) for the most satisfying pasta dish you’ll have in all of Bburg. Many of their dishes are also naturally vegetarian and gluten-free. Everything is whipped up fresh by Chef Sasha Miranda.
If you’re not taken with your date, you’ll be charmed by the waitstaff, and you’ll absolutely fall in love with Sommelier Mauricio Miranda, who keeps filling your glass with fine, local and imported wines. We advise you to take his recommendations. Ours is to split a spicy bottle of the Arriba Termino de Hilanda ’09 Monastrell  (Spain) for $48. It’s affordable and it’s worth it.
Stroll out of truly, romantic Miranda with a cheeky glimmer in your eye, ready to be taken in by the evening. Oh and if you haven’t heard– get the bread basket.
