Arctic Monkeys: Suck It and See

Suck It and See
(Domino Recording Co)
Suck It and See is another standout album from the Arctic Monkeys that combines their famous British accents with good ole America rock.
One of the standout tracks on this album is the title track. A quieter rock song, it even involves a singalong chorus. Lyrics like, “Baby I was made to break your heart” fit nicely over the instrumental arrangement. The two parts of the song complement one another well. The same is true of “Love Is A Laserquest.” The track starts off sounding a bit like Flock of Seagulls and moves on to become a rock love ballad. Simple guitar chords and a tambourine are the perfect complement to the sultry vocals. “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair” is an example of what the Arctic Monkeys are best at: witty lyrics and slow buildups to a rocking chorus. Look to “Brick by Brick” for another track that fits this formula well.
The Arctic Monkey’s latest release is exactly what they needed in their repertoire: another strong rock album that can unite listeners. Be sure to pick this album up before catching the band live as they’re known for massive singalongs during live shows.
