With another record on the charts, former indie-folk rockers Tegan and Sara move further into the mainstream. With 2013’s Heartthrob, fans were given a taste of their new sound. Now, on Love You to Death, their eighth studio LP, the twins once again partner up with producer-songwriter Greg Kurstin (Adele’s “Hello”) to create a project that probably cements their pop star status. With lighthearted tunes and catchy hooks, it’s a good look for the sisters, as they share vocals on lead single “Boyfriend” (inspired by Sara’s current relationship), the curious “Dying to Know,” and the break-up song called “100x.” Even if you’ve never followed the career trajectory of the Quin sisters, Love You to Death is a fun intro into their new, bright and sunny world.
