Tedeschi Trucks Band’s third album, Let Me Get By, combines the soul of Memphis, the jazz and heart of New Orleans with some good old fashioned country-rock and blues. Now a 12-piece band, including a three-piece horn section (created by husband-and-wife duo Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks), Let Me Get By lovingly balances the energy of jam sessions, tour rehearsals and live shows. Recorded at Swamp Raga in Jacksonville, FL, the home studio of Trucks and Tedeschi, a great majority of the songs on the record were produced by the former with a few co-produced by guitarist/collaborator Doyle Bramhall II (Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Meshell Ndegeocello). With Tedeschi’s golden voice and the freedom of a new record label alongside a collaborative and cohesive collective of band members, Let Me Get By is good music for the soul. Recommended spins include “Hear Me,” “Don’t Know What It Means,” and “Anyhow.”
