When Everyone Already Owns an I Heart NY Tee
Jointly celebrating the opening of the first Hard Rock Cafe in London on June 14, 1971, and the FDNY’s 150th anniversary, Hard Rock Cafe New York recently unveiled its limited-edition FDNY merchandise including a gray T-shirt featuring a logo on the sleeve matching the one on the FDNY150 Fire Truck.
At the unveiling, the shirts looked especially good on the firemen who were on hand to model them paired with those irresistible red suspenders and flame retardant pants of theirs. Not only would the shirts make nice gifts, but a portion (50 percent net) of the proceeds from sales of the merchandise benefits The FDNY Foundation, which provides funds for the New York City Fire Department Fire and Life Safety Education programs and helps meet the FDNY’s training, equipment and education needs. The collection also includes a magnet, water bottle and collectible pin.
Later this summer, the Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square will be inviting FDNY members to participate in a burger cook off with the winning burger earning a spot on the menu for a limited time, and, of course with a portion of burger sales going to the FDNY Foundation.
