New York City’s Fireships patrol the foggy edges of American music: mixing fire and water, tenacity and placidity, electrified folk guitar stylings, vocal harmonies, piano pounding, and the martial earnestness of violins and pennywhistles approaching at a distance. Theirs is a sound that can span decades in the course of a song, with lyrics that shine with sparkle and grit. The band’s debut album was released on April 21st, and they come home to Brooklyn with a show at The Living Room on Wednesday, June 24th.
