Bastards is a remix album of Bjork’s tenth album, Biophilia. It features two remixes of “Crystalline,” “Thunderbolt,” “Sacrifice,” and “Mutual Core,” with one remix of “Virus,” “Hollow,” “Dark Matter,” “Solstice” and “Moon.” The only track present on Biophilia not present on Bastards is “Cosmogony.”

According to FactMag, Bjork “picked a quarter of (the remixes) for one CD for people who are perhaps not too sassy downloaders or don’t have the time or energy to partake in the hunter-gathering rituals of the internet.” The cover art for the album features Bjork’s “strata” persona, which was featured in the “Mutual Core” music video.

The most noteworthy remixes consist of the Indian-inspired Omar Souleyman remix to “Thunderbolt,” the tender remix of “Moon” by the Slips, and the beautifully haunting remix of “Virus” by Hudson Mohawke’s Peaches and Guacamol.

Since this is a remix album, it’s not a must-have for music lovers, but for die-hard Bjork fans, it’s worth checking out.
