Lilith 2010 Tour
The Lilith 2010 Tour compilation album, released by Arista, bottles up sixteen tracks by talented female artists who toured together this past summer with Lilith Fair and then pours them out for you to enjoy.
Some of the most well-known hits on the album include Colbie Caillat’s puppy-love hit “Falling for You,” Sara Bareilles’ first single “Love Song,” and the late-2009 hit, “TiK ToK,” from Ke$ha.
Lesser-known songs include “Hell,” an edgy but fun, in-your-face single from sisters-duo Tegan and Sara’s 2009 album Sainthood. Corinne Bailey Rae’s song, “The Blackest Lily,†is the polar opposite with its dark and dreamy, yet elegantly romantic sound. It is representative of her sophomore album, “The Sea,” which was written shortly after her husband’s death. Another somber, yet beautiful track is Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone,” a breakup ballad from 2009’s All I Ever Wanted.
Other beautiful ditties worth listening to over and over again are Norah Jones’ “Chasing Pirates,” The Weepies’ “I Was Made for Sunny Days,” and of course Lilith founder Sarah McLachlan’s inspiring anthem “One Dream.” While the level of popularity of each of these fair ladies varies, every track is worth a listen. This album can be played from start to finish and is best served on a mellow weeknight, with a glass (or entire bottle) of wine.
